Smile financial compensation...

I am living in a co-op building located in Orange County, California for 10 years now. I am comfortable with my space and I am happy with the management of the co-op. Our building is entering a fourth summer of construction that causes the outdoor space of our penthouse to become a staging area. We appealed to the co-op board for financial compensation for loss of use of the space. It offered only $4,000. Can we appeal for it? Is it legal?
