Default GST in restaurant

My father is planning to buy a commercial property, which is a former restaurant. He also plans to renovate and make new designs for a Japanese restaurant. The commercial space is located here in Los Angeles, CA. Since I am the most experienced, my dad appointed me to be in charge in making deals with the Realtor. The realtor has good offers and deals. However, I am wondering if we need to pay the GST in the restaurant?
