Thumbs up sub meters...

I have been living in my co-op apartment in Buffalo, NY for decades now. Since the building I reside in became a co-op in 1986. The cost of electricity has been included in the rent. I like it that way because that’s what I am used too for many years now. Unfortunately, the co-op board is now planning to install sub meters in each apartment. What are the rules for sub metering for stabilized renters? Does the board have to seek our approval? Or it could be done without our approval?
