How many months allowed for a extension?

I need some advice. I have been browsing the internet to search for good answers on the problem we have with our day care. It is our family business, which is a daycare center for kids, and right now we are now in foreclosure. Unfortunately, we made a house loan six years ago and we have not paid the mortgage for five months. The bank said they need the property as soon as possible if we cannot pay the mortgage. Can we ask an extension for it? How many months allowed for a extension? We need the daycare for the children. What should we do about it?
