how do realtors get paid?

I am a new Realtor. I started six months ago. Since I am new with this job, I do not know few things yet. I am still in the process of learning the rules and regulations. May I ask how are Realtors paid on bank owned homes or short sales in Washington? Do you have any idea about it?
