Who pays the real estate agent fees?

I have been living here in Ohio for three years. I am selling my house and will move to New Jersey soon. I did not hire any Realtor and I want to negotiate for myself. I am looking for prospect buyers. My friend wants to buy my property and he hired a Realtor. I have a simple question that will pay for the real estate agent fees. Am I responsible for its commission?
